Last night’s MasterChef finale pulled 992,000 viewers according to OzTAM metro numbers, no doubt buoyed on the news that it was also the final episode for departing judges Matt Preston, George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan.

On a positive for 10, MasterChef knocked over Ninja Warrior that dipped to 887,000; however, it didn’t give the network too much of a lift for audience share.

It should also be noted that the 992,000 was for the announcement of the winner. The rest of the episode pulling 831,000.

10 pulled 21.9 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Nine won the night with 28.3 per cent, Seven was second with 27.7 per cent, the ABC had 13.6 per cent and SBS did 8.5 per cent.

The other grand final of the night, Seven’s House Rules managed 730,000 and clearly took a hit from the Ninja-MasterChef combo.

Other standouts for 10 included The Project (551,000) and 10 News First (405,000).

Seven did well with its 6pm news (1.041 million), Home And Away (679,000), The Chase (605,000) and Andrew Denton: Interview (507,000).

For breakfast, Sunrise (282,000) toasted Today (201,000).

Nine kicked goals with its 6pm news (926,000), ACA (762,000), Hot Seat (509,000) and The Hitman’s Bodyguard (301,000).

The ABC’s evening ran thus: 7pm news (647,000), 7.30 (465,000) and Ask The Doctor (430,000).

Best for the SBS was Insight that pulled 219,000.
