Australia’s leading Out-of-home health network, Tonic Health Media, today announced the continued expansion of its Sydney operations, hiring Krista Walker as Commercial Manager.

As Commercial Manager, Walker will work directly with agency partners and key decision makers to deliver campaigns across Tonic’s leading network of health- focused media inventory in Sydney and Melbourne.

Walker joins Tonic from Bauer Media, where she spent the last six years working in both direct and agency sales. In her most recent position as a Key Account Manager, Walker helped clients such as Tiffany & Co, Coty and Prada achieve their business objectives via integrated solutions across print, digital, social and events for key Bauer titles including Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Gourmet Traveller.

The appointment is the third of its kind for the year, with Sam Matheson brought on board as Commercial Manager to lead agency relations in Victoria and Jo Anne Tan appointed as Commercial Manager in Sydney. The hires reflect Tonic’s growth in the out-of-home landscape and follow the acquisition of TorchMedia’s Digital Pharmacy Network, which consisted of over 250 high definition digital screens across the country, helping Tonic reach over 14 million Australians per month.

Tonic Commercial Director Jack Mortlock says Walker’s appointment is a reflection of the growth trajectory Tonic has seen this year. “Our focus on consistently growing the Tonic network has allowed us to hire a string of highly qualified staff members to deliver quality campaigns for our clients.

“While our position in the market continues to grow, our commitment to delivering the best health outcomes for all Australians remains the same. Krista has an acute understanding of the sales landscape across digital, social and print, so is perfectly placed to deliver campaigns across all of Tonic’s assets. With her on board, I’m sure we’ll be able to continue to expand the network and break through the glass media ceiling,” he continued.

Walker said she’s looking forward to joining a business that’s had a very successful year to date. “Tonic is going from strength to strength, and it’s exciting to be part of a team that takes an active interest in improving the general health of the nation. If someone engages with the Tonic network and decides to talk to their GP about it, then that’s a life we’ve enriched or even saved. It’s inspiring to know we’re having an effect on the general public and I’m looking forward to seeking opportunities that will help improve the lives of all Australians,” she said.
