The return of Gogglebox last night proved a winner for embattled broadcaster Ten, pulling in 824,000 viewers.
Combined with The Bachelorette (793,000) it also gave the the network one of its best nights in terms of audience share since the MasterChef final, securing 23.9 per cent.
However, it wasn’t enough to beat Nine – who won the night with 28.5 per cent – and Seven with 27.1 per cent. The ABC had 13.4 per cent and SBS managed 7.1 per cent.
The Block again did the business for Nine with 1.17 million viewers, while its 6pm news bulletin (924,000) also beat rival Seven (897,000).
Its news aside, Home And Away was Seven’s best with 583,000, followed by The Chase with 533,000, Mrs. Brown’s Boys with 477,000 and World’s Deadliest Weather: Caught on Camera with 245,000.
Over at the ABC, its 7pm news had 708,000, 7:30 managed 552,000, Short Cuts to Glory: Matt Okine vs Food was disappointing with 313,000, Glitch had 221,000, and Grand Designs had 163,000. The Murder Detectives was just 113,000.
Trains were again SBS’s saviour with Great British Railway Journeys its best with 294,000.
