It was bad news for Port Adelaide, going down to Richmond (77-65) in last night’s AFL game. Better news for broadcaster Seven, who saw the game nab 427,000 viewers according to overnight OzTAM metro numbers.
The footy won Seven the night with 32.2 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Nine had 25.5 per cent, 10 did 16.9 per cent, the ABC had 15.6 per cent and SBS was just shy of double-figures and 9.7 per cent.
Seven’s news was also the most watched show of the evening with 895,000 viewers. Nine’s 6pm bulletin did 821,000, while ACA followed things up with 587,000.
Over at 10, MasterChef had a bit of an off night, it could only do 438,000. The Project did 334,000 and 10 News First had 311,000.
In the afternoon game shows, Seven’s The Chase (514,000) beat Nine’s Hot Seat (449,000).
Other standouts for Nine included RBT (389,000), Tipping Point (338,000) and Emergency (307,000).
The ABC only managed two programs in last night’s top 20 – its 7pm news (578,000) and 7.30 (375,000).
