Thursday TV Wrap: AFL Premieres And Seven Wins the Night

Seven covered the first AFL game of the season where 2020 Grand Final winners Richmond triumphed over Carlton. It clinched 668,000 viewers, while the post-match programming had 520,000.

Nine News managed to beat Seven News to the top spot on Thursday night, securing 824,000 viewers according to OzTAM’s metro data.

Seven News had 817,000 viewers.

ABC News beat A Current Affair with 590,000 viewers compared to 486,000.

10’s Gogglebox was again the top-performing entertainment outside of the footy, clinching 483,000 viewers, a dip from last week. Seven’s The Chase followed hotly behind with 423,000 viewers while Nine’s Hot Seat was a little colder at 401,000. Seven’s Home and Away had 276,000.

Nine’s NRL coverage scored 378,000 viewers as the Parramatta Eels beat the Melbourne Storm.

The rest of 10’s night saw The Project score 356,000 viewers while 10 News First had 309,000 and Bondi Rescue had 275,000.

ABC’s night had 7.30 scoring 506,000 viewers, while Back Roads had 401,000 and Sammy J had 272,000.

Seven (all channels) won overall with 33 per cent of the daily share while Nine (all channels) came in second with 25 per cent. 10 (all channels) had 19 per cent, the ABC (all channels) had 15 per cent and SBS (all channels) had seven per cent.
