The Last Dance: Michael Jordan Slyly Advertises His $2800 Per Bottle Tequila Business

If there is one thing that rivals Michael Jordan’s basketball skills, it’s his business know-how.

Jordan singlehandedly helped Nike grow into the global giant it is today, while he also now owns a 97 per cent stake in NBA franchise the Charlotte Hornets – a job which has seen him become the first athlete billionaire in history.

So it’s little surprise Jordan – who is believed to have a net worth of over $3 billion – used his new Netflix series to promote one of his lesser known business ventures.

The Last Dance, which debuted on Netflix this week, features a series of on-on-one sit down interviews with Jordan alongside a spate of never before seen footage.

Throughout the interviews, Jordan is seen enjoying a cigar and large glass of brown liquor as he shares stories from his playing days.

As it turns out, Jordan is in fact sipping a glass of Cincoro tequila – a company he co-owns with other NBA owners.

This was confirmed by ESPN journalist Ramona Shelburne.

Bottles of Cincoro tequila retail for up to $US1,800 ($2,831) per bottle.

Some had hypothesised Jordan was drinking his own liquor even before it was confirmed.

“Jordan is a sharp marketing/business guy, so I’d have to guess he’s drinking his tequila,” author Lew Bryson told the Unnamed Temporary Sports Blog. “And since he can… he’s probably drinking the extra añejo.”

Luckily for Jordan, the glass of tequila received a lot of attention in the aftermath of the documentary, as viewers observed it fill up and empty again and again.
