Netflix’s brand-new documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness has single-handedly managed to distract house-bound and bored civilians dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

If you haven’t watched it, it’s essentially a docuseries about homosexual zoo owner named Joe Exotic who is the one-time owner of a successful-seeming private zoo with over 200 tigers and other big cats.

There’s also some murder and absolutely insane madness thrown in for good measure.

And yesterday, KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O had the awkward pleasure of interviewing Joe Exotic’s ex, John Finlay.

The radio duo dubbed it “the hardest interview [they’d] ever had to do”.

“Let me warn you guys, it’s been a long time since we’ve interviewed someone that was hard work like this,” Jackie O said.

“Probably the hardest interview we’ve ever had to do … he wasn’t really understanding questions and not really wanting to answer questions that much.”

While the radio pair’s audio producer would typically edit interviews to cut out awkward silences, the duo decided to keep the interview raw.

Kyle said: “I want you guys to feel the same pain we felt.

After Finlay revealed he was in a relationship with Joe Exotic for 11 years, Kyle asked why they broke up.

Finlay said: “There were some problems in the relationship and problems outside the relationship.”

Kyle prompted Finlay to say more, but he didn’t.

Jackie O then said: “You’ve gone from being someone who no one would recognise on the street … now a lot of people would recognise you, yet you probably can’t walk the streets…”

Finlay said “um”, before Kyle intervened, asking “Life is good or not good?” Finlay still didn’t respond. Kyle then asked: “You alright? Did she stump you? Too hard that question?”

Finlay said: “I couldn’t really understand the question”.

The entire interview continued in a similar fashion. Eventually, Kyle asked the question no doubt everyone else was thinking: “You’re not on meth anymore are you, John?”

“I have given up the meth, six years clean,” he said,
