TED Unveils The Third Generation Of AI Bots In Witty New Spot Via Mother

Creative agency Mother London has crafted a quirky film for learning platform TED, which uncovers the ‘third generation’ of AI bots taking human form and consequently showcasing their experience with human ‘privilege’.

The film set a century ahead in 2118, highlights how AI bots have transitioned from a mechanism to solve humanity’s problems to a privileged human with mental health issues.

Rebecca Front, who stars as a therapist in a futuristic office space, says in the film: “They’ve grown up wealthy and educated, and without any real purpose they’ve gravitated towards fields like art and DJ-ing, and that’s just made them more miserable.”

Hugh Skinner, who stars as AI bot ‘Archie’, spends majority of the year in Bali creating his own line of toe rings while his mother had performed 10,000 heart transplants at his age.

Check it out below:

The film is part of an original series commissioned by TED to bring to life its 2018 theme ‘The Age of Amazement’ and premiered last week at the TED conference in Vancouver.
