Super Rugby And Super W Streaming On Kayo

The recently-launched Kayo Sports has continued picking up steam, with Vodafone Super Rugby and Buildcorp Super W streaming from February.

The HD streaming service, which officially launched in Australia in November last year, touts itself as the only place where every match of both contests can be streamed, live, and ad-free during play.

The brainchild of Foxtel chief executive Patrick Delaney, early returns for Kayo Sports have proven promising, with a News Corp report revealing that, as of February 5, 2019, it had attained 115,000 subscribers — 100,000 of which were paying subscribers.

In a statement, News Corp chief executive Robert Thomson said: “Within our subscription video services segment, this quarter we launched Kayo Sports, a sports-only OTT product, to positive reviews, and we look forward, with confidence, to the peak selling season for the most popular winter sports in Australia.”

The Vodafone Super Rugby is set to kick off on February 15, with the Buildcorp Super W to follow on February 23. Super Rugby coverage continues until July, while Super W crowns their champion in April.

They join a growing list of sporting codes both international and homegrown, including the NBA, NFL, UFC, Serie A, La Liga and the NRL.
