BRING Delivers VR Experience For Optus With Troye Sivan

Entertainment marketing agency BRING has joined forces with Optus and Google to activate an innovative partnership with global music sensation Troye Sivan, giving his fans an up close and personal virtual experience.

Filmed during his sold out European tour, The VR film takes fans behind closed doors; onstage with Troye for an exclusive 360 sound check performance that sees him deliver the emotive ‘Talk Me Down’.

Fans will also be able to take their 360 experience to the next level through custom limited edition Google Cardboard viewers, designed by Troye, available at selected Yes Optus stores across the country. Troye’s fans were invited via his Facebook page to access the VR experience in an exclusive preview window.

Over 20K fans have entered the competition, closing at midnight on July 21 to meet Troye and be sent a secret SMS link to view the VR content. It will be made available to the public on 28 July via Optus’ You Tube channel but you can access a sneak peak here.

As part of the partnership, Troye will perform at an intimate gig for Optus customers during his August tour – one of several events BRING and Universal Music are producing for Optus in 2016. June saw US superstars, OneRepublic rock an exclusive show on Sydney Harbour.

Cameron Farrelly, executive creative director of BRING said: “As our first Creative In Residence, we were buzzed to work with Troye to create an experience that will blow his fans’ socks off. Because he is such a hands-on artist, the creative processes has been hugely collaborative and allowed us to harness Troye’s vision and deliver upon Optus’ quest to bring fans closer to the artists they love in a new and unique way”

Megan Forster, director innovation and value added products, Optus said: “Optus is all about providing game-changing experiences for our customers, and through partnerships like this Troye Sivan 360-video campaign, we are really delivering a new way of seeing, hearing and feeling more from the music and artists that fans love.”

Chris Dodson from Google said: “With more than five million subscribers, Troye is one of Australia’s most successful and globally renowned YouTube creators. It’s great to see Troye experiment with 360-video and Google Cardboard to give his fans a taste of what it’s like to be on stage with him.”
