INVNT Challenges The Traditional Corporate Conference At Xerocon Brisbane

INVNT Challenges The Traditional Corporate Conference At Xerocon Brisbane

Xerocon was launched by leading accounting software brand Xero back in 2010 and today is the largest accounting technology conference in Australasia.

It brings together more than 3000 accountants, bookkeepers and financial professionals from Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

INVNT APAC MD Laura Roberts said: “Xerocon is not just your average conference!”

“Hailed ‘the Coachella for accountants’, Xerocon has achieved an almost cult-like following amongst the best in the business, so it was essential for INVNT to take Xerocon Brisbane to unrivalled heights of engagement and emotion,” Roberts added.

“We began by firstly employing INVNT’s proprietary creative process and design methodology INVNTion™, which allows us to conceptualise, design and produce highly customised events and content regardless of the country, language, venue or target audience,” explained Roberts.

“We then partnered with head curator of TEDxSydney, Fenella Kernebone, to assist with curating a bespoke and intelligent guest performance and speaker program to compliment the various Xero- sessions.”

The INVNT team created a custom-designed round stage with Silent PA System Technology, which allowed for Xero’s world class line-up to run simultaneously in a quadrant-like design, a production first for the Sydney-based global agency.

“Day One at Xerocon Brisbane kicked off with an incredible performance by YouTube ‘beat-box sensation’ Tom Thum, followed by London bombing survivor, Gill Hicks, who gave a provoking, powerful and life affirming speech on peace.

“We flew Mark Mason, #1 New York Bestselling author of Subtle Art of Not Giving A F&*k, in from New York to challenge the audience perceptions of self-help and finished out the day with Andy Dexerity, with his Queen rendition of Somebody to Love, which had the audience amazed with a standing ovation!” said Roberts.

Drawing inspiration from the sunshine state location, INVNT threaded a MIAMI theme throughout the entire two-day production.

From the 24-metre custom built pink pool filled with over 250,000 balls, to the Xerocon Basketball Court, Putt Putt Golf and Ping Pong networking activities.

“Wherever anyone roamed within the 20,000 sq/m BCEC space, there was a unique ‘live brand experience’ that absolutely rocked any preconceptions of the traditional conference experience!” concluded Roberts.

The two-day production ended with a “Brisvegas” wrap-up party held at Cloudland where over 2,000 of the attendees experienced the glitz and glamour of Vegas, which included a white wedding chapel, trapeze artists and several other “social moments” purposely created for engagement and to encourage posting and sharing globally.

According to Xero senior events manager Cara Weers, INVNT also helped deliver Xerocon Atlanta in early 2018 and believes it’s the agency’s unique “challenger” approach and full-service delivery of global live brand engagements that made it the perfect partner for delivering Xerocon Brisbane.

“It was INVNT’s unmatched reputation to conceptualise, design and produce the world’s most memorable ‘live brand experiences’ and Xero’s commitment to excellence that led us to partner.

“Each member of the INVNT tribe share a challenger mindset, where status quo is never enough. This combined with their integrated approach and seamless delivery resulted in a jammed packed extravaganza full of engaging content and experiences, making it one of the best Xerocon’s yet!” concluded Weers.
