PlayersVoice has launched their first Alexa skill to coincide with the launch of Amazon’s all-new Echo Show.
Australian sports lovers will now have the opportunity to not only hear and watch sports news and scores via Amazon Alexa, but also raw, rich first person stories from their favourite athletes.
All consumers with an Alexa-enabled device are now able to listen to and watch PlayersVoice stories from elite athletes in key sporting disciplines.
The skill enables consumers to enjoy inspiring, insightful PlayersVoice stories and podcasts when using an Alexa-enabled device, along with rich imagery and video for those with an Echo device with a screen.
Amazon Alexa Skills country manager Kate Burleigh expressed excitement in providing a new skill that offers the relatability and depth of experience that PlayersVoice has become renowned for.
“We’re excited to expand the ways in which Alexa can connect customers with their favourite athletes and sports.
“And with PlayersVoice, there’s no better way to get closer to the personal stories that matter most to them.
“All customers have to do is ask Alexa to open PlayersVoice and the sounds and stories of Australia’s leading athletes will come to life.”
PlayersVoice, Australia’s athlete generated media (AGM) platform, has noted that teaming up with Amazon Alexa is a natural fit for the business that further delivers on its promise to enrich the soul of sport in Australia.
“Since we launched a year ago, we’ve placed great emphasis on supporting Australian athletes through providing a trusted and valued platform to connect on a deeper level with both current and new fans.
“Commercially, we have rapidly emerged as a leading end to end sports content partner for brands, delivering on ideation, matching of athlete talent, production and distribution of content.
“Our Alexa Skill, in addition to our own channels and strategic partnership with Fox Sports, furthers the depth of engagement for our athlete and brand partners.
“Here’s to ‘Alexa, open PlayersVoice’ becoming a daily routine for our sports obsessed nation,” says Lucy Wadsworth, Director of Marketing & Partnerships at PlayersVoice.
