Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky returns to Hobart’s Dark Mofo Festival this June with two immersive bar experiences – The Talisker Wilderness Bar and the Talisker Winter Feast Bar.

This year will mark the third year that the Diageo Whisky brand has partnered with the festival, as Diageo continues to invest in Talisker as a priority brand in its single malt whisky portfolio.

The Dark Mofo Festival activation coincides with the launch of Talisker ‘A Wild Spirit Made by the Sea’ campaign which displays Talisker’s passion and unwavering connection to its home by the sea, on the Isle of Skye, whilst encouraging Australians to embrace their ‘wild spirit’ to disconnect to reconnect with the elements.

Commenting on the partnership, Diageo brand manager, Kathryn Percy said: “The Malt Whisky category has never been more vibrant and exciting, and we’re seeing almost 20 per cent growth rate through more people entering the category.

“We’re excited to tell the story of Australia’s most popular peated whisky, Talisker, and to partner with Dark Mofo to bring this story to life at the Hobart-based Winter Festival.”

Southern Tasmania’s brooding winters are reminiscent of Talisker’s distillery home on Scotland’s Isle of Skye where it has produced award-winning whiskies since 1830.

The Talisker Wilderness Bar brings this connection to life, offering a warm place for Festival goers to disconnect for a moment enjoy a Talisker whisky with friends around the open log fires.

At this year’s Dark Mofo, festival-goers can enjoy Talisker’s twist on winter drinks, created especially for the festival to showcase the versatility of the liquid in order to appeal and recruit new elemental adventure audiences.

Talisker Whisky ambassador, Katie Nagar said: “Talisker is a whisky made by the sea on the Isle of Skye.

“It is a single malt with flavor that has a sense of place, with a sweet smoke and pepper and salt from an island battered by wind and waves.

“Australian winters by the water really do provide the perfect backdrop to cosy up with a Talisker in hand, and the serves that we have created for Dark Mofo are perfect to showcase the unique flavors of Talisker while being accessible to those who may be starting their whisky adventure.”

Nagar added: “We look forward to offering The Talisker Wilderness Bar as the ideal spot to enjoy a dram of whisky and share tales of adventure.

“The Talisker Spiced Hot Toddy proved such a popular offering at the festival and is the winter serve we are promoting across Australia served in on-premise venues from a Talisker urn and consumed with the Talisker blue enamel camping mugs.”

The Talisker Wilderness Bar is located on the Dark Path and The Talisker Winter Feast Bar is located in the main hall.
