Sydney’s Newest Zoo Appoints Agency Roster

Australia’s newest zoo, Sydney Zoo, is set to open early next year in the heart of Western Sydney and has appointed Red Agency as lead agency for its pre-launch, opening and ongoing PR program. Red Agency joins Magnum & Co and Loyal Creative Agency as part of a marketing communications agency roster.

The world-class facility has been purposely designed to attract visitors from Western Sydney, plus other parts of Australia and international markets as part of a burgeoning cluster of attractions in the area, and will embrace technology and innovation to provide global best- practice animal welfare, customer engagement and education.

On show will be a wide range of animals including lions, tigers, chimpanzees, rhinos, hyenas, giraffes, reptiles and even bull sharks in a safari-like setting that breaks down the barriers and provides a more immersive experience than traditional zoos. Additionally, it will bring 200 jobs to the area.

Red Agency’s remit will be overall communication strategy including brand awareness, influencer engagement, content development, issues management and media relations activity.

Loyal Creative Agency will lead brand development and website development whilst Magnum & Co has been appointed to develop and produce video content marketing including paid media assets. The selection comes after a comprehensive competitive pitch process.

Sydney Zoo head of marketing, Chris Rivett said: “Sydney Zoo is set to be one of Australia’s top tourism destinations and family attractions and we look forward to working with our passionate partners to tell this rich story and generate national interest ahead of our launch early next year,” he said.
