Sunday TV Wrap: MKR’s Return Proves A Fizzer For Seven

The return of My Kitchen Rules (which filled the void for the “rescheduled” Australian Spartan) hasn’t cooked-up the wonders Seven would’ve hoped, pulling its worst-ever audience last night.

The stalwart cooking show could only muster 858,000 viewers beating its previous worst of 930,000 set on February 14th of this year.

Married At First Sight was once again the most watched program of the night, pulling 1.34 million viewers. That said, even MAFS was down 200,000 from the previous Sunday.

However, it should be noted that it’s a public holiday in Victoria today, which may be skewing the numbers.

Nine won the night with 34.2 per cent audience share, followed by Seven with 27.8 per cent, Ten had 16 per cent, the ABC 15.8 per cent and SBS managed 6.3 per cent.

Nine also took the current affairs crown. Its 6pm news bulletin beating rival Seven’s 971,000 to 882,000, respectively. 60 Minutes (653,000) also had bragging rights over Sunday Night (558,000).

Ten’s best was I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! which pulled 658,000, while The Sunday Project continues to flounder, mustering a disappointing 347,000 viewers.

Its 7pm news bulletin (657,0000), Grand Designs (558,000) and Howard’s End (471,000) was the story of the ABC’s night.

Over at the SBS, not many people at all tuned-in for its most-watched show of the evening – Eight Days That Made Rome pulling a paltry 157,000.
