Sunday TV Wrap: It Goes From Terrible To Calamitous For Channel Ten

Sunday TV Wrap: It Goes From Terrible To Calamitous For Channel Ten

Following on from last week’s news that Network Ten had lost a flotilla of its best shows following a collapse in negotiations with their US broadcaster comes last night’s OzTAM figures that apparently show few Australians are watching the network anyway.

Its news bulletin aside (323,000 viewers), no program on Ten last night could crack the 300,000 mark.

Ten pulled a paltry 11.5 per cent audience share last night and was even thumped by the ABC (19 per cent) and wasn’t far of the SBS with six per cent. Nine easily won the night with 36..8 per cent followed by Seven with 26.7 per cent.

The Block again did the business for Nine pulling 1.51 million viewers which also created a halo effect for 60 Minutes that had an impressive 1.07 million.

Nine’s 6pm news bulletin (1.03 million) also scored bragging rights over rival Seven’s (933,000).

Little Big Shots (893,000), Highway Patrol (622,000) and Star Wars: Episode One (411,000) was the story of Seven’s evening.

Again, it was pretty much a car crash everywhere for Ten with Wake in Fright managing 293,000, The Sunday Project had 274,000 and Bull with 227,000.

It was better news for the ABC with Doc Martin (882,000), The Doctor Blake Mysteries (862,000) and its 7pm news bulletin (815,000) all cracking the 800k mark.

For the SBS its best of the night was Robert Redford’s The West which managed a bugger-all effort of 176,000.
