Sunday TV Wrap: Schapelle Gives Dancing With The Stars Its Best Launch Since 2015

Seven’s attempt to revive The Dancing With The Stars format showed some real promise, debuting to 744,000 OzTAM metro viewers last and making it the best launch since 2015.

But rather than steal viewers away from Nine’s MAFS, the controversial dating show’s numbers appeared to go up, it posted a very impressive 1.127 million last night.

Nine enjoyed an easy Sunday night win with 36 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Seven had to settle for 28.7 per cent. The ABC (13.9 per cent) pipped 10 (13.2 per cent) for third and SBS did 8.2 per cent.

In the battle of the news bulletins, Seven’s did 1.085 million, Nine’s had 1.017 million and the ABC’s 7pm outing posted 543,000. Nine’s 60 Minutes pulled 830,000.

Seven’s AFL coverage did 487,000 and Nine’s NRL had 271,000.

In the battle of the villains, Nine’s Australian Crime Stories did a neat 400K, while Seven’s Crime Investigation Australia: Most Infamous had 328,000.

Over at 10, its best was The Sunday Project (325,000) and 10 News First (290,000).

Standouts for the ABC included Harrow (428,000), Grand Designs New Zealand (333,000), Insiders (285,000), Landline (261,000) and Silent Witness (248,000).
