Sunday TV Wrap: Block-Ashes Combo Hands Nine A Big Win

Judging by the numbers, Aussies tuned-in to free-to-air TV in droves last night.

The Block went over the million-mark with 1.120 million viewers. Seven’s Australia’s Got Talent did 865,000 and 10’s Survivor pulled 650,000 according to OzTAM metro numbers.

Nine easily won the evening with 39.2 per cent of all eyeballs over all the channels. Seven did 27.6 per cent, 10 had 15.6 per cent, the ABC had a neat 12 per cent and SBS could only muster 5.6 per cent.

Nine’s Ashes coverage on 9Gem peaked at 542,000 for the first session of play.

Seven’s 6pm news (1.086 million) saw off Nine’s bulletin (1.034 million).

60 Minutes had 651,000 to Sunday Night’s 616,000.

Seven’s AFL pulled 326,000 to Nine’s NRL that had 239,000.

10’s other standouts included The Sunday Project (380,000), 10 News First (254,000) and Instinct (239,000).

The ABC’s evening ran this way: 7pm news (630,000), Les Norton (389,000) and Attenborough’s Wonder Of Eggs (389,000).

Best for SBS was a repeat of Who Do You Think You Are? that managed 146,000.
