Striking The Balance Between Effort And Reward With Your CMS

Symbol of scales is made of stones on the boulder

Gartner recently placed Sitecore as a leader in its magic quadrant for Web Content Management, ranking it above most other platforms and putting it only behind Adobe when it came to the completeness of vision.

Sitecore is a digital experience platform providing solutions across content management (CMS) and e-commerce, and digital asset management .

According to Aceik’s recently appointed COO Wayne Vickers, users implementing Sitecore solutions are likely to get ‘serious bang for their buck’ when they choose a partner with runs on the board who fully understands how to get the most from the platform .

“When implemented wisely, Sitecore can put businesses in a really strong position in terms of effort versus reward,” Vickers told B&T.

“The solutions that the Aceik team have always focussed on are those that are really strong in terms of value delivered, functionality and performance, without being overly heavy in terms of implementation. We’ll continue to focus on value to our clients.”

With CMS systems continuing to evolve at a rapid rate, Vickers pointed out what features marketers should be looking for when selecting their systems. “Personalisation and automated marketing are very big at the moment, as is asset management” he said.

“This is where an agency like Aceik comes in, we try and get a really good understanding of what the client’s needs are and we don’t just try and sell the latest tech, we actually show them how to get the best bang for their buck.”

Aceik works with clients to assist with the strategy, implementation, training and support of Sitecore solutions. “We’re very much an end to end Sitecore specialist agency,” Vickers said.

Aceik was recently recognised at the Sitecore Experience Awards with an Honourable Mention in the Most Sophisticated Implementation category for its work with RAA, where it was able to help the customer improve website performance, increase automation and enhance efficiency.

“We are honoured to have worked closely with the RAA team to deliver this next step in the business’ digital strategy: a customer-centric website that not only meets the needs of their customers, but is now also recognized by Sitecore,” said Aceik CEO Jason Horne at the time.

Joining Aceik with 20 years of digital experience, Vickers said his focus will be helping the consultancy grow its team in the coming months. “I’m very much focussed on growth, processes and maintaining and improving the quality and culture of the team,” he said. “A big part of that will be making sure we bring on the right people.”

Having spent plenty of time ‘client-side’ – including a recent stint with the AFL – Vickers said he is excited to bring this experience to agency life.

“Now that I’ve been client-side for a few years and I’ve actually been in the position of owning, operating and maintaining systems like Sitecore, I think I have a better understanding of what it’s like on the other side of the fence,” he said.

“When I add my own experience to the serious depth of talent and experience already in the team, which includes multiple Sitecore MVPs, I can see good things happening.”
