The Star Observer Nabs Corey Sinclair As New Editor

The Star Observer has cleared up a new spot on the editorial desk, appointing Corey Sinclair to the role of editor. Sinclair replaces outgoing editor Elias Jahshan, who resigned for the very good reason of pursuing his dream to live and work in London.

Sinclair has most recently worked in Sydney and the Northern Territory as a journalist for News Corp, and was deputy digital editor of the NT News during a period of rapid digital audience growth.

In addition, Rad Mitic has been appointed as sales manager, responsible for leading the Star Observer team of advertising account managers. His role will focus on expanding relationships with media and marketing agencies, while increasing revenue from advertising and sponsored content partnerships.

Rad has previously worked in sales roles for NRS Media, The Entourage, Staples, and Kaplan Professional.

Chairman of the Star Observer, Sebastian Rice, said, “Our talented editorial team has been firing on all cylinders for the last two years, securing some amazing cover stories with Ian Thorpe, Alan Joyce, and US ambassador John Berry.

“Our new team members will give us the chance to turbocharge our success, add new skills to our mix, and grow our audience even faster.”

Founded in 1979, the community-owned Star Observer is a social enterprise that re-invests proceeds into supporting LGBTI charities and community initiatives. The free Star Observer Monthly is advertiser and sponsor supported. The print edition is available at selected inner- city venues across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Canberra.
