St.George Bank To Sponsor Brisbane Football Club

St.George Bank has announced a platinum partnership with Brisbane City Football Club.

With longstanding partnerships in Rugby Union, Rugby League and AFL, the new partnership will see St.George currently being the only major bank to sponsor all codes of footy across the nation.

The funding will provide support to all Teams across the Club, including direct support for the Club’s Powerchair Football Side who will proudly carry the St.George logo as front-of-shirt sponsor for 2020.

This funding will also enable the addition of disabled toilet facilities to the BCFC Clubhouse, an upgrade long overdue and welcomed by the City community of families and supporters.

Brisbane City FC, and indeed many football clubs, have experienced rapid growth in the past five years on the back of Football now being Australia’s Number 1 sport by participation. This requires investment by Governments and Sponsors to provide the facilities, coaching staff and equipment necessary to support the demand for services from the community.

St.George Bank general manager Ross Miller said it is a really exciting time to support the Brisbane City Football Club who have a respected network of not only players but business and community leaders across Brisbane.

“Our new relationship with Brisbane City Football Club will complement the fantastic work they are doing in the community championing junior football, inclusivity and diversity.”
“Sport is for everyone and supporting communities and growing sporting pathways for every Australian are incredibly important to us as a family bank”.

“We are very proud to be one of the first banks in Australia to now support all four codes of footy across the nation; including elite, female, LGBT and grassroots teams in league, rugby, AFL and now football.”

Brisbane Football Club president Rob Rossi said: “We are so pleased to welcome St George Bank to the Brisbane City FC Community. Their investment into Football will enable the Club to provide further services to our expanding player base of over 700 families and in particular underpin our expansion into Girls and Women’s Football.

“Support for the construction of our Disabled facilities in the Clubhouse makes a massive difference to our Powerchair Footballers and their ability to attend and feel part of the Club.”

Throughout 2020, St.George Bank will broaden its support to grassroots footy clubs via a $100,000 Footy Grants Program, awarding local grants to help remove barriers to participation and encourage junior clubs to kick-start their footy journey. Local junior football clubs in Queensland will be eligible to apply for a grant when applications open later this month.
