Starting today, users in Australia and New Zealand can tune in to their Cosmic Playlists – sign-specific playlists and readings – on the Trending hub (found via Browse) or by directly searching their sign, on Spotify.

Each playlist is informed by renowned and respected celeb astrologer, Chani Nicholas’ (feature image) astrological readings—which determine the particular sign’s theme of the moment—and is accompanied on-mobile by the reading itself.

Each of the twelve unique playlists is curated with songs and artists whose music reflects and evokes those themes.

“When a song resonates with you, it might feel really personal, like it’s speaking about your own experience. But it’s also speaking to a huge, broad audience. When there’s something collectively going on where a song resonates for a lot of people, it’s the same way that a horoscope will speak to the archetypal themes of the moment,” said Nicholas about how music can compliment astrology.

“What’s your sign?” Whether you love or hate the question, the cultural obsession continues to make its mark.

With growing engagement amongst the millennial mainstream and the increase in popularity of daily horoscope apps, astrology has never been more accessible.

Astrology is no longer simply synonymous with bold predictions about love, fame, and fortune. Instead, it’s attracting more and more people who use astrology as a way to reflect and find direction in their lives.

Music can provide that same effect, and that’s why we’re working with Chani Nicholas to create Cosmic Playlists, a popular and highly-requested on-platform offering that launched earlier in the year in the U.S.

Nicholas added: “Horoscopes are a very tiny portion of what astrology is. Most people conflate the sign that the sun was in when they were born—their sun sign—with their entire astrological makeup. But that sign is only one small piece of the huge mosaic that is your entire chart”.

No matter your sign, check-in every month for a new reading and new set of songs that match your astrological makeup.

Nicholas concluded: “Cosmic Playlists are my collaboration with Spotify to bring you a soundtrack to the astrology for the month ahead. It’s a monthly horoscope in music form. You can use them for inspiration, reflection, or for your own personal dance party. Your written monthly horoscopes are published on the playlists too: look for a pop-up window when you open the playlist on your mobile phone.”
