Sports Start-Up MyFavorito’s Appoints FutureBrand Australia

Global sports startup MyFavorito has appointed FutureBrand Australia as its global branding partner with a brief to build a brand as radical as its digital sports sponsorship platform, helping sports clubs worldwide unlock a completely new revenue source.

The partnership will see FutureBrand Australia deliver the global brand strategy, brand identity and customer experience, working in tandem with MyFavorito’s product and technology teams. With the support of the FutureBrand Australia team, CEO Rich Curtis [feature image] will act as the brand’s Chief Marketing Officer to help integrate the brand and marketing into key operations and the overall customer experience.

On the appointment, Curtis said: “This kind of partnership with MyFavorito is a first for FutureBrand Australia and it’s one of the ways we’re challenging ourselves to think differently about how we do business. We are testing the limits of what a branding company can do by partnering with a business and integrating our team into their operations to build and scale a global brand and deliver transformational brand experiences.”

MyFavorito CEO and founder Dirk Schlenzig said: “There are 5 million sports clubs worldwide, including more than 70,000 in Australia. Our mission at MyFavorito is to help those clubs attract more sponsors and make more money for themselves by offering a digital sports sponsorship platform that is radically different. Our partnership with FutureBrand Australia is exciting, as it will help us build the MyFavorito brand globally and deliver brand experiences that make it easy for millions of sports clubs around the world to attract more sponsors, get more revenue and engage more fans.”

MyFavorito digital sports sponsorship platform enables businesses to support professional and grassroots clubs via everyday transactions, empowering club fans to feel good and make a difference by earning money for their favourite club through their attention or spending.

Curtis continued: “Since I first met MyFavorito’s founder Dirk and APAC Managing Partner Mark Hinshelwood, it was clear they’re on a mission. After their early success, it’s time to invest in the brand and unlock the business’s full potential in connecting sports clubs with a radically improved way to attract sponsors and engage fans. It’s exciting for the team and me to join with MyFavorito and give the brand leadership they need to help them achieve such an important mission for sports clubs everywhere.

“By embedding ourselves in MyFavorito’s business, we will broaden our collective experience and learn new skill sets in the name of building a global brand from the ground up, rather than the boardroom down. At FutureBrand, we’re fortunate to have some very strong relationships with our clients – relationships with like-minded people who want to build transformational brands – and it’s great to be able to welcome MyFavorito to the FutureBrand family too.”

The partnership adds to FutureBrand’s extensive experience in sports branding over many years, including brand-building projects for the AFL, Big Bash League, Cricket Australia, Football Marketing Asia and World Rugby.

MyFavorito and FutureBrand Australia’s partnership is effective immediately.
