Snap has pinched Rob Wilk, Microsoft’s global head of advertising to be its first president of the Americas.
Wilk will be based out of Snap’s New York offices and will report into COO Jerry Hunter. He will be responsible for sales across the US, Canada, and Latin America and managing the largest advertising partners in the region.
Wilk takes the place of the company’s two top ad sales execs, Jeremi Gorman and Peter Naylor last year, both of whom joined Netflix.
“We were impressed not only with Rob’s hands-on experience building a large and growing advertising business, but also his approach to leading customer-centric sales teams and developing strong, sustained customer relationships,” Hunter wrote in an internal memo to Snap staff Monday.
Wilk spent almost eight years at Microsoft in a variety of advertising-based roles.
