Gone are the days when multi-million-dollar ad campaigns were the golden goose for companies wanting cut through.
Still, while the focus has switched to viral videos, the age of the influencer, lead generation intelligence and cross channel brand UX, small business marketers are often left scratching their heads about what’s affordable to them and what’s going to provide the best bang for their buck.
SMB Digital will take place on 30-31 March 2022 at ICC, Sydney. This free-to-attend two-day conference and exhibition has been created to help small business leaders access of all kinds of technology to increase their profitability and ROI.
It’s the only event of its kind in Australia exclusively for small-and medium-sized businesses showcasing actionable ideas and insight into transformative practices and digital technology.
The conference portion of the program will feature experts and success stories sharing imitation-worthy pathways to brilliance using things like AI, data analytics, data strategy and – you guessed it – digital marketing.
Sessions of note include, ‘The Art of War – applying gamification to your business and how it can win you customers’; ‘Decluttering the marketing data deluge – Transform your marketing strategy with automation’; and ‘How to use customer data to build digital strategies’.
There’s also a two-hour workshop you can sign up for called ‘Marketing in a digital world – Maximising how to be found online’.
Helen Souness (above image), CEO of RMIT Online and digital marketing mainstay from top brands such as Lonely Planet, Etsy and Envato is one of two keynote speakers headlining SMB Digital. Helen will be there to bring home the message that even a small amount of extra digital savviness can take a business a long way.
“It’s important for SMBs to be inspired and get confident that they can use tech just as well as big businesses. These small, simple tools and services aren’t as intimidating as they may seem but can really supercharge your results if you use them,” says Souness.
“For example, even a non-tech person like me working in a digital business needs to know how to deliver a project with an agile methodology, product management using software-as-a-service, and digital marketing. And we know, digital marketing is a must because traditional marketing is becoming less and less relevant and too expensive for a lot of businesses.”
