Monday TV Wrap: Sing When You’re Winning! Yes, 10 Wins The Night!

10’s surprise smash The Masked Singer came to an end last night and, judging by the viewer numbers, 10 executives would argue way too prematurely, too.

The show proper enjoyed 1.050 million according to OzTAM metro numbers, with that rising to a very impressive 1.372 million for the finale reveal.

10’s Have You Been Paying Attention? also enjoyed the halo effect, it posted a serious 926,000.

And if you’d thought Block viewers deserted the show for The Masked Singer, that didn’t appear to be the case with the reno show still managing a decent 897,000 considering the competition.

On the downward slide, Nine’s Love Island continues to shed viewers, it could only muster a disappointing 312,000 on the main channel.

The Masked Singer’s success handed 10 a well-deserved Monday night win with 26.4 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Nine was second with 25.4 per cent, Seven was a close third and 24.4 per cent, the ABC did 15.9 per cent and SBS did 7.9 per cent.

In the battle of the 6pm news bulletins, Seven (921,000) beat Nine (839,000). ACA managed 756,000.

Meanwhile, for breakfast, Sunrise (282,000) toasted Today (194,000).

Other standouts for 10 included The Project (550,000), Just For Laughs (370,000) and 10 News First (322,000).

Seven’s other movers included The Chase (499,00), Bride And Prejudice (407,000) and The Rookie (303,000).

The ABC’s night of current affairs went thus: 7pm news (631,000), 7.30 (563,000), Four Corners (533,000), Australian Story (508,000), Media Watch (481,000) and Q&A (312,000).

Best for SBS was How The Victorians Built Britain with 229,000.
