Gym ads are typically the domain of genetically blessed supermodels and ab-honed Adonises, which makes a new campaign for UK fitness chain The Gym all the more refreshing.
The ad, titled “So I can”, is the work of independent agency Who Wot Why and features everyday folk and the reasons they’ve chosen to get fit.
Among the well-meaning lines there’s “live to hundred”, “be more confident” and B&T’s favourite, “see my willy”.
The spot also features British powerlifter Syeda Bukhari, who works out in her hijab, and Felicia Cantone, a cancer sufferer who exercises to “fight the fight”.
