New mum and tennis, sporting legend, Serena Williams, is the star of an emotionally-charged new ad for sports drink maker, Gatorade.
Throughout the ad, Williams talks of her hopes and expectations for her new daughter, Olympia, who was born in early September.
Interestingly, the 100-second ad never shows any Garorade product and viewers only learn of the ad’s origins right at the end when the company’s logo appears.
US Industry site AdAge is also reporting that a baby stand-in had to be used during the commercial’s filming as baby Olympia was unwell on the day of the shoot.
“While Serena intended to have Olympia make her screen debut as part of this film, her daughter was under the weather and unable to be on set, but the sentiment remains the same,” a Gatorade spokeswoman told AdAge. Check out the moving spot for yourself here:
