Tourism Tasmania has appointed Red Havas as its global communications agency of record following a competitive pitch process.
Red Havas will be responsible for Tourism Tasmania’s global PR strategy and coordination across key markets.
In particular, Red Havas will be looking to boost awareness and intrigue in visiting Tasmania from around the world.
Led by the Australian-based team, the Red Havas network, with outposts in New Zealand, United Kingdom, and Singapore, with the United States, will handle the global remit. The US team will be supported on a campaign basis alongside the reappointed PR agency Julie Earle-Levine Consulting.
Sarah Clark, CEO, Tourism Tasmania says: “Tasmania is a travel destination that punches well above its weight in terms of stories and experiences. We’re looking forward to working with Red Havas to really tap into those unique stories and increase our global presence across top-tier media outlets, while strengthening our ambition to make a positive impact on tourism around the world.”
James Wright, global CEO Red Havas and CEO Havas Creative Network Australia said: “We feel very privileged to be appointed as the Global Communications Agency for Tourism Tasmania and to partner with their incredible team to showcase Tassie to the world.”
“Tasmania provides a rich source of storytelling and we are energised by the opportunity to capture the island’s culture and diversity, leveraging our deep credentials and relationships in key markets to encourage people to experience the destination. Having visited many times, I can say the feeling of the culture and environment is truly an antidote to the fast-paced and cluttered reality of today’s busy world.”
The Red Havas Global Hub based in Australia will work with Tourism Tasmania’s marketing team and global agency network to develop a global comms program, including PR and content development, media relations, publicity, advocacy and influencer relationships.
Tourism Tasmania appointed Lindene Cleary as its chief marketing officer earlier this month.
