REA Group has pledged $122,000 to Nedd Brockmann’s “Uncomfortable Challenge” campaign in a bid to tackle homelessness.

Electrician turned runner, Nedd pushed himself to the physical limit in the name of raising awareness and funds for We Are Mobilise, a charity focused on helping Australians who experience homelessness. Brockmann took on a world record challenge, attempting to run the fastest 1,000 miles ever, with the goal of raising $10 million for Mobilise.

“REA’s purpose is to change the way the world experiences property, this includes those experiencing homelessness. Everybody deserves a safe place to sleep every night and we’re so pleased to make a $122,000 pledge to Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge,” said REA group chief executive officer, Owen Wilson.

“Our donation is representative of the number of Australians who experience homelessness on any given night. Nedd’s impactful campaign and the work of We Are Mobilise set the bar high for communities and corporate Australia to do more and to be part of the solution,” added Wilson.

“We have been working with REA in the lead up to Nedd’s run, so it was no surprise that when we put a call out to corporate Australia, they stepped up to take a stand and no longer accept homelessness as a fact of life, as they have been for years with other great homelessness movements,” said We Are Mobilise founder and CEO, Noah Yang.

“This donation represents the largest single donation to the campaign to date – but symbolically also represents the 122,000 people facing homelessness across Australia who we will be working tirelessly to support. Watching Nedd during his incredible run has truly shown us that anything is possible. We’ll be tenacious in our efforts to make both REA Group and the other 40,000+ donors proud,” added Yang.

The Group’s pledge to Brockmann’s Uncomfortable Challenge comes after combined ticket proceeds from REA’s customer event, Ready24, raised more than $400,000 in support of community organisations earlier this year. Ready24 will return in 2025 and will again raise funds to support organisations working to end homelessness.
