Radio Ratings Reveal Sydney Slump For Kyle & Jackie O

GfK, the official provider of radio ratings for Commercial Radio Australia, today released its Survey 6 results, and it’s not too flash for KIIS FM’s the Kyle & Jackie O show in Sydney.

See below for a summary of the FM ratings for each city (we’ve also included the full results tables so you can compare them with the AM stations).

SYDNEY

There was relatively no movement in the Sydney market when it came to overall market share for people aged 10 years and over, with NOVA Entertainment’s smoothfm and the Australian Radio Network’s KIIS 1065 remaining unchanged at 9.7 per cent and 8.3 per cent respectively.

WSFM once again finished third, but was down 0.1 per cent to 7.7 per cent.

Breakfast

First: KIIS 1065’s the Kyle & Jackie O show (8.9 per cent – down 0.9 per cent)

Second: Smooth 95.3’s Bogart Torelli & Glenn Daniel (7.0 per cent – no change), and WSFM’s Jonesy & Amanda (7.0 per cent – up 0.3 per cent)

Third: Triple J’s Matt & Alex (6.3 per cent – down 0.3 per cent)

Drive

First: Smooth 95.3’s Byron Webb (11.3 per cent – up 1.2 per cent)

Second: NOVA 96.9’s Kate, Tim & Marty (9.3 per cent – up 0.2 per cent)

Third: KII5 1065’s Hughesy & Kate (8.9 per cent – down 0.7 per cent)

MELBOURNE

The Hit Network’s Fox FM retained top spot overall with an unchanged market share of 8.8 per cent, while ARN’s GOLD 104.3 experienced a 0.2 per cent decline to 8.3 per cent, and Triple M moved ahead of smoothfm 91.5 with 7.9 per cent market share (up 0.3 per cent).

First: Triple M 105.1 (9.2 per cent – up 0.8 per cent)

Second: Fox FM 101.9’s Fifi, Dave & Fev (8.0 per cent – up 0.6 per cent)

Third: NOVA 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny (7.3 per cent – up 0.5 per cent)

Drive

First: Fox FM’s Hamish & Andy (11.0 per cent – down 0.3 per cent)

Second: NOVA 100’s Kate, Tim & Marty (8.1 per cent – down 0.7 per cent)

Third: Triple M (8.0 per cent – up 0.8 per cent) and smoothfm (8.0 per cent – down 0.4 per cent)

BRISBANE

Despite losing 1.2 per cent market share overall, NOVA 106.9 still leads with 13.9 per cent, followed by ARN’s 97.3 FM with 12.4 per cent (up 0.3 per cent), while Hit 105 remained unchanged with 10.7 per cent market share.

First: 97.3 FM’s Robin, Terry & Bob  (13.4 per cent – up 1.1 per cent)

Second: NOVA’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy (13.2 per cent – down 1.6 per cent)

Third: Hit 105’s Stav, Abby & Osher (9.0 per cent – down 0.8 per cent)

Drive

First: NOVA’s Kate, Tim & Marty (16.4 per cent – down 0.7 per cent)

Second: Hit 105’s Hamish & Andy (14.5 per cent – up 0.8 per cent)

Third: 97.3 FM’s Hughesy & Kate (11.9 per cent – up 0.1 per cent)

ADELAIDE

Mix 102.3 extended its lead for overall market share, up 1.3 per cent to 16.0 per cent, while NOVA 91.9 was the only other commercial station to hold a double-digit share of the market with 11.3 per cent (up 1.5 per cent). Triple M placed third with 9.8 per cent (down 0.1 per cent).

Second: NOVA’s Lewis & Lowe (10.7 per cent – up 0.3 per cent)

Third: Hit 107’s Cat & Amos (8.5 per cent – down 0.1 per cent)

First: NOVA’s Kate, Tim & Marty (14.2 per cent – up 2.0 per cent)

Second: Mix 102.3’s Hughesy & Kate (13.8 per cent – up 1.4 per cent)

Third: Triple M (11.3 per cent – down 0.3 per cent)

PERTH

The top three stations remain unchanged in WA, with Mix 94.5 increasing its lead overall by 1.2 per cent to 16.4 per cent. NOVA 93.7 stays in second with 11.7 per cent market share despite a 1.7 per cent decline, and Hit 92.9 saw no change with 11.1 per cent.

Second: NOVA’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun (12.3 per cent – down 1.5 per cent)
