PRISM Appoints Scott Barnes As Managing Director

WPP AUNZ’s specialist sponsorship agency, PRISM, has announced Scott Barnes, as Managing Director Australia, based in PRISM’s flourishing Sydney office.

Barnes will report directly to Justin Ricketts, Chairman, PRISM AUNZ, with a key remit to focus on the day-to-day management of the business and expand PRISM’s Sydney-based team and client roster.

Ricketts, who was brought on board last year to forensically look at what clients need from a sponsorship agency, said Barnes’ outstanding pedigree, not only within the sponsorship and rights management space, but also as a strategic thinker and event creation and execution specialist, positioned PRISM Australia as a leader in its field with a strong growth forecast.

Ricketts said: “Scott’s appointment clearly reflects WPP AUNZ’s investment in the agency and the need for a global sports marketing brand to expand its footprint in the Australian marketplace.

Scott’s extensive experience puts him in an excellent positon to continue PRISM Australia’s strong growth pattern, we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Barnes said of his appointment: “I am incredibly motivated to join such a talented team and be part of a global network with access to specialist activation and content resources worldwide.

“At PRISM we live and breathe the culture of sport and entertainment – both iconic parts of every Australian’s lifestyle – and I look forward to harnessing that passion and love of sport and working with our clients to advise them how to effectively get the most value from their sponsorship investments.

“Together Justin & I bring extensive experience from Ensemble, Octagon and subnine,” said Barnes. “Our philosophy is we work better together and our purpose will be to proactively work with our clients and their agencies in a truly collaborative process.”

PRISM has a 25-year global history managing sports and entertainment sponsorships, operating across 15 offices and boasting clients such as Ford, Aston Martin, Heineken, Allianz, Nike, Casio and Shell on its roster. Now with established offices in both Sydney and Melbourne, with a staff of 12, PRISM Australia’s focus will be to continue to partner with local clients, having recently won business in key sponsorship categories, with further announcements to follow.
