Powerful Campaign Launched To Fight British Pub Closures

In a campaign dear to B&T’s own heart, Britain’s Beer Alliance has unveiled a new £9 million ($A16 million) campaign to fight British pub closures, all the while promoting them as a vital part of the community.

According to the stats, some three pubs close in the UK every day and Britain’s Beer Alliance argues many are being unfairly taxed out of business.

The new campaign, called “Long live the local”, is the work of Havas London and invites viewers to sign a petition to cut the tax on beer.

Some 15,000 pubs will promote the campaign which includes point of sale material in the pubs themselves including branded glasses, beer mats and posters.
