Sony has hooked cult characters Rick and Morty to promote its latest gaming console, the PlayStation 5, in an advertisement that, hilariously, takes aim at marketing stereotypes.

The duo, who star in the animated sitcom Rick and Morty on cable network Adult Swim, are now promoting Sony’s latest console. But, thankfully, they’re sticking to their guns and hyping the PS5 in their typically cheeky way.

In a 30-second ad, the pair are shown in their loungeroom. Rick sits on a couch, counting money, while Morty attempts to list off all of the key marketing points for the new machine.

At one point, after being told which marketing points to list off about the PS5, Morty steps in front of the new console, prompting this reply from Rick: “Morty, don’t block the console, they really want that in the shot”.

The video, shared on Adult Swim’s YouTube page, includes the caption: “Hear all the marketing points PlayStation gave Rick to say about the new PlayStation 5 console, from Morty.”

And it appears its working wonders for gaining further attention for the PS5—the video, which was released on Friday, has more than 2.75 million views, at time of writing.
