Plant-Based Chicken Schnitty Hits Shelves

Plant-Based Chicken Schnitty Hits Shelves

Ruffie Rustic Foods has launched a plant-based “Chicken-ie Schnitzel” to meet market demand from the growing number of Australians choosing to incorporate more vegetables and meat alternatives into their diet.

The classic Aussie Chicken Schnitty has been reimagined as 100 per cent plant-based, recreating the taste and texture of real meat without sacrificing the flavour Aussies know and love – and for $7 RRP, it has been flying off freezer shelves.

Since launching in October 2020 Ruffie Rustic Foods ‘Chicken-ie Schnitzel” has quickly become a fan favourite as the brand’s highest selling meal, with almost 100,000 units sold after only 20 weeks in market.
The plant-based chicken-ie schnitzel comes in a ready-made, frozen meal complete with al dente penne in a Pomodoro sauce of vine-ripened tomatoes, capsicum and zucchini.

“Whether you’re a vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, or just simply wanting to try something new, Ruffie Rustic Foods is all about promoting a healthy, balanced lifestyle with an emphasis on progress not perfection,” Says Anand Surujpal, GM of Marketing & Innovation at Patties Foods Ltd.

“With this new flavour, we want to treat our customers to the classic flavours they love, in a modern and convenient way.”

Ruffie Rustic Food’s entire frozen range, including their other plant-based meal options such as the “Thai Green Chicken-ie Curry” is available in the freezer section of Woolworths and select Independent Grocers and Petrol & Convenience outlets right around the country.
