Pitch2Punch Applications Are Open So It’s Time To Get In The Ring!

Fancy yourself a bit of a hotshot when it comes to fitness and fiesty attitudes? Always wanted to get in the ring with one of your peers for a bit of a scuffle while doing good at the same time? Well the media and marketing corporate challenge Pitch2Punch is back, and your name is all over it.

Over 11 weeks, 20 industry champions will complete an intensive training programme and step into the ring for an amateur boxing bout, in front of 600 of their industry peers, colleagues, family and friends.

Taking place on Friday 8 July 2016 at the Royal Randwick Racecourse Ballroom, the fourth annual Pitch2Punch will once again provide support for beyondblue; the national depression and anxiety initiative, while raising awareness of the issues associated to anxiety and depression.

Pitch2Punch is the brainchild of Gareth Eden-Styche, owner of Shambles Communications.

When asked about the premise of the event Gareth said, “Pitch2Punch is not about winning. It is about celebrating every participant, their journey and their incredible achievement, while raising valuable funds for those who need someone in their corner.

“It culminates in the most remarkable, memorable event, showcasing the outstanding capabilities of some of the most amazing people our industry has to offer”. Oh, and its probably the most fun you can have while standing on two legs.”

Pitch2Punch 2015 competitors are full of praise for the event.

“The greatest fitness and mental challenge I have ever done. An awesome experience, with awesome people, culminating in one of the best nights of my life. Man-up and sign up; you won’t regret it!” said Darren Collins, Pitch2Punch 2015 Industry Champion.

“Pitch 2 Punch 2015 was a once in a lifetime experience I will never forget. There were a couple of tears and minor injuries, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. If you get the opportunity give it a shot, you will not regret it.” added Hilary Bryce, Pitch2Punch 2015 Industry Champion (fight of the night).

Competitors commit to three weekly, professionally administered boxing training sessions and one-on-one training sessions, reaching peak physical performance and achieving the unthinkable; a fully sanctioned amateur boxing bout at one of the best nights of their lives.

Over three years Pitch2Punch has raised over $40,000 for beyondblue and helped raise awareness of the issues associated to anxiety and depression across our whole industry. Additionally, it has celebrated the incredible achievements of 60 amazing people.

If you’ve ever thought about pushing your limits, here is your chance. You’ve done the pitching, now do the punching.

Pitch2Punch is open marketing and media industry representatives of any age, sex or fitness level. Competitor applications close 25 March 2016, and training starts 22 April 2016. For more information click here!
