Pete Davidson Gets Tackled For Being So “Hittable” In Hellmann’s Super Bowl Ad

comedian and inadvertent ladies man, Pete Davidson, has made his Super Bowl commercial debut for food brand, Hellmann’s, in which he cops a sacking from former NFL linebacker, Jerod Mayo.

The 60-second spot – in which Hellmann’s vows to tackle food waste – sees Mayo steamrolling through a selection of food-wasters, before stopping at Davidson, who informs Mayo that both he and his mother (played by Davidson’s actual mother, Amy) aren’t actually wasting food.

Naturally, Mayo decides to poleaxe the Saturday Night Live star anyway, to which Davidson responds, “I get it, I’m very hittable”.

It’s like Christmas come early for Kanye.

“It was the coolest, I can’t believe that I got to be in it,” Davidson told People.

“Hellman’s whole thing is, ‘We’re encouraging people to not waste food at home and use it in other aspects.’ And we don’t [waste food] at the Davidson household, you’ll see.”

The ad is part of the brand’s wider attempt to curb food waste, with Hellmann’s having recently teamed up with Harvard Law School’s food law and policy clinic to encourage 100 million people across the globe to become more resourceful with food.

A 30-second spot for the condiment brand’s “MAYO x MAYO Food Waste Tackling Team” campaign will debut during the third quarter of the upcoming Super Bowl LVI on February 13.

The commercial is a light-hearted change of pace for Davidson, following a rocky start to 2022 in which he started dating Kim Kardashian, and subsequently found himself on the end of a diss track and some alleged peculiar rumours from Kanye West.

That said, if Hellmann’s latest commercial is any indication, Davidson is more than happy to join in the fun and practise some self-deprecation like the rest of us.
