Oracle Executive Ilda Jamison Joins The SpotX Team Down Under

Video advertising and monetisation platform SpotX has announced the appointment of Ilda Jamison as the company’s new MD in Australia and New Zealand.

With over 17 years industry experience working in the UK and Australia, Jamison joins SpotX from Oracle, where she was tasked with the launch of the third party marketplace for Oracle Data Cloud’s Australian division.

Prior to Oracle, Jamison also held executive positions at MediaMath, AppNexus, Fairfax Media and currently sits on the IAB Data Council.

Jamison is scheduled to begin at SpotX mid May at which time she will be tasked with focusing on the company’s next phase of growth in the region including reinvigorating the company’s brand, revenues, and market position, and re-establishing SpotX as the leading video advertising platform with offerings around addressable TV, over-the-top (OTT), online video, and more.

Ilda Jamison said: “I’m excited to join SpotX at such a pivotal time for the company.  The recent mergers and acquisitions will provide a huge opportunity for publishers and brands to achieve much greater value from the video ecosystem.

“I look forward to hitting the ground running and sharing SpotX’s exciting full stack offering with this part of the world.”

The news comes amid the recent acquisition by SpotX’s parent company, RTL Group, of Yospace, a video technology company that has developed one of the most advanced technologies for Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI), allowing the replacement of existing commercials from a broadcast stream with more targeted, personalised advertising.

This acquisition combined with last year’s merger of SpotX with its sister company, addressable TV and HbbTV provider smartclip, repositions SpotX as a powerful player in the growing TV and digital video ecosystem throughout Australia and New Zealand.

SpotX CEO and co-founder Mike Shehan said: “We’re excited to welcome Ilda Jamison to SpotX. Her background and experience will allow us to accelerate business operations throughout the region, drive sales, and help increase brand awareness about SpotX’s ability to bridge the gap between linear TV and digital video.”

SpotX’s country manager, Australia and New Zealand, Christopher Blok, has moved on from the company to pursue new opportunities.

Shehan continued: “We are extremely grateful to Chris for his dedication and contributions to the company, and we wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
