Open Colleges, Australia’s leading online educator, has announced its sponsorship of the 2018 NAB AFL Women’s Competition via media agency Bohemia.

The partnership comes under the Open Colleges ‘Find Your Awesome’ campaign umbrella. It will incorporate stadium signage, as well as branding on the umpire uniforms. The sponsorship will also provide in-match activations, sponsored content, a video content series and collaborations with some of the league’s key talent including Katie Brennan (Western Bulldogs) and Nicola Barr (GWS Giants).

Open Colleges Head of Brand Marketing Nicholas Coulman said; “We are excited to partner with the NAB AFLW in 2018. The AFLW’s values align perfectly with our purpose at Open Colleges. We believe everyone has the power to achieve greatness and it’s our job to give them the confidence to find their awesome. Partnering with the exceptional women of the AFLW offers real-life examples of this greatness while effortlessly aligning with our brand values of courage, optimism, integrity and equality.”

AFL General Manager of Commercial Kylie Rogers said that the AFL is excited and proud to partner with Open Colleges in their first ever sporting partnership.

“We are proud to be Open Colleges first ever sports partner. Having helped over 800,000 students gain the skills they need to excel in their chosen field, we are excited by the opportunities Open Colleges will provide to the players and umpires of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition,” Ms Rogers said.

Bohemia’s Head of Strategy Chris Christofi, said; “The AFL Women’s is a great place for the brand to connect with people. Most of the players juggle multiple career commitments and have taken significant journeys to live their passion and get where they are today. It’s an inspiring story for our consumers.”

The NAB AFL Women’s Competition launched last year with eight teams – Adelaide Crows, Brisbane Lions, Carlton, Collingwood, Freemantle Dockers, GWS Giants, Melbourne and Western Bulldogs.

The 2018 season kicks off on Friday 2 February at Ikon Park in Carlton, Victoria.
