“One Of The Best Moments In Game Show History!” Family Feud Contestant Goes Viral After Hilarious Blunder

A contestant on Canada’s Family Feud has become an instant internet sensation after a gloriously embarrassing gaffe.

The contestant, Eve Dubois, was vying for a $10,000 prize when posed the question: “Name Popeye’s favourite food?”

Unfortunately, Ms Dubois mistook the cartoon character (who, of course, is famous for his liberal consumption of spinach) for the north American fried chicken chain, Popeyes, and exuberantly answered “chicken” to her family’s horror.

Check out the expensive blunder below:

As these things do, the calamity soon went viral and ultimately caught the attention of Popeyes’ (the fast-food chain, not the cartoon sailor’s) marketing chiefs who, grateful for the massive free exposure, gifted the hapless gameshow contestant the 10 grand anyway.

Commenting on the generous cash giveaway, Popeyes’ head of North American marketing, Bruno Cardinali, said: “This happened in Canada, where we still don’t have our new chicken sandwich but a good and growing presence.

“We tracked and saw a huge spike in Popeyes conversations up north since August, and her reaction and response was another great demonstration of how Popeyes is really part of culture and top of mind…even more so than the sailor man,” he said.

Still, others are simply calling Dubois’ monumental stuff-up one of the greatest moments in game show history.

“This might be the worst question in Family Feud (Canada or otherwise) history… one answer,” one tweeter wrote, with another adding: “This might’ve been one of the best moments in game show history.”
