OMD Loses Another Managing Director

Omnicom-owned media agency OMD has confirmed that Dianne Richardson is standing down as managing director of its Melbourne operation after joining the agency less than nine months ago.

Richardson joined OMD in February from UM in America, where she was executive vice president and chief strategy officer.

In a statement to B&T, and OMD spokesperson said: “It is a mixture of sadness and gratitude that OMD confirms Dianne Richardson will be standing down from the role of OMD Melbourne managing director to focus on her family.

“Di has had a major impact on OMD Melbourne in lifting the product output and ensuring the office’s ongoing success. OMD thank[s] Di for her contribution.”

Commenting on her departure, Richardson said: “I want to thank our OMD-ers for being so awesome. Whilst I’m sad to be leaving the role to focus on team Richo, I’ll continue to be a friend of OMD.

“OMD are a brilliant agency with such strong leadership and people, so I know they’ll continue to nail it.

Richardson will continue working at OMD in a consultancy role into 2019.

Kenny Stewart, current OMD group managing director for Queensland and Western Australia, will oversee the Melbourne operation with the support from managing partners Antonia Glezakos, Alex Smith, and Sharon Cookson.

Richardson’s departure comes after OMD confirmed earlier this month that its Sydney MD, Yvette Mayer, was exiting the agency at the end of 2018.
