OMD’s Big Day Out event rolled into Sydney yesterday, with over 180 media owners in attendance.
Now in its third year, the unique event is designed to give media owners a deeper understanding of OMD’s client offerings, business challenges and how the media can help solve them, while also recognising and celebrating the role media owners play in the agency’s success.
Held at COMMUNE in Waterloo, guests were taken through eight custom-built immersive client experiences, before being joined by the wider agency for a post event party.
Attendee Kurt Burnette, chief revenue officer at Seven West Media, said: “There is absolutely no question that the very best work for advertisers comes from collaboration and the sharing of insights between media owner and media agency.
“OMD’s Big Day Out has once again done a wonderful job of sharing client objectives in an entertaining and memorable format, better enabling us as media owners to respond with ideas in an effective and relevant way.”
Yvette Mayer, managing director of OMD Sydney, said: “This was my first OMD Big Day Out event and I couldn’t be prouder of the team. It was fantastic to see them put so much creativity and fun into their presentations.”
OMD Australia chief executive Aimee Buchanan said: “Our Big Day Out events are an opportunity for us to acknowledge and thank our media partners for the contribution they make to our agency and our clients.
“The Sydney team did an outstanding job displaying incredible passion and knowledge of their clients.”
