Avocados are so expensive that people are trying out some inventive ways of getting free ones; Last week, a customer posted a photo to Woolworths’ Facebook page claiming that the avocados she had purchased at a Double Bay store were rotten but it Turns out the woman had nicked the photo from another customer’s complaint back in 2014.

The lady posted to Woolworths’ page complaining that her avocados were bruised and that staffers judged her fashion sense: “I purchased these avocados from your store at double bay yesterday, upon making a sandwich today i came to find these avocados are rotten! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, I demand my money back!!!! and at your double bay store aswell! i expected more from you woolies.

“On top of that one of your employees gave me the biggest dirty look as i was self servicing, making a comment about my crocs, since when is it a crime to wear crocs??? this is Australia god dammit. From now on im shopping at aldi!!!!!”

Woolworths social media manager hit the search button and found the same photo was posted back in November 2014 by a different person:

Detective Woolies cracked the case and Facebook commentators went in on the post, both for the free avocados and the fact she was wearing crocs.

Here’s the original 2014 post from Ryan Goodall:

The Woolworths’ social media team wasted no time if posting the following response: “Ryan the Disappointment is more than we can bare! Private message us your number and we will hook a brother up.” Goodall get a stash of new avocados and commented on his original photo:

Happy days for Ryan and Woolworths, not so much for the lady trying to score free avos.
