A Brisbane radio host has thanked pop superstar Boy George for helping him remain sober after years of addiction.
Nova host Ash Bradnam was interviewing Boy George during a segment on Ash, Kip and Luttsy with Susie O’Neill yesterday.
During the interview, Bradnam asked George if he felt comfortable speaking about his own struggles with overcoming addiction, to which George happily complied.
Bradnam began speaking on the topic by stating, “I’m a recovering addict; it’s been a huge struggle for me.
“I’ve looked to people who have chalked up sobriety when I’ve been hopeless and without hope, and I know what that feels like, and you’re someone that I went wow, you’ve got through and created a life of sobriety.
“I do want to say thank you for that.”
George replied, “I go, ‘how the f— did I do 10 years’, but I would say everything good in my life is because I’m clean and I’m able to really enjoy what I do in a way I couldn’t before.
“Now as an older man, I sort of think if you’d told me 30 years ago, that I’d be in Australia on a music show giving people advice, I don’t think we knew what was possible.”

Boy George is currently in Australia film Nine’s The Voice.
