Airspeeder, the world’s first flying car racing series described as the ‘Formula One of the skies’, has appointed Sydney design and innovation studio North to create its new immersive digital experience platform.
Airspeeder will be the most exciting and progressive motor sport on the planet. Elite pilots will use the sky as their playground in intense head-to-head competition, flying electric octocopter or ‘Speeders’ which can hit speeds of up to 200km/h.
Independent digital transformation specialists North have been appointed to develop the digital brand identity and an immersive digital platform that focuses on bringing the sport to life for fans, investors, sponsors and commercial partners. Airspeeder joins a growing list of startups turning to North to optimise their digital experiences to grow their businesses.
Ian Howarth, creative director at North said: “Airspeeder promises to be one of the most innovative and exciting new sport and entertainment properties to emerge in decades and it needs a visual identity and digital experience to match that promise.”

From its headquarters in Adelaide and its global commercial base in London, Airspeeder has secured institutional funding from three leading technology venture capital firms and has drawn leading names in aerospace, motorsport and engineering including Rolls-Royce and Babcock Aviation. Manned testing flights are due to begin in the South Australian desert soon.
North launched in 2018 has led a number of projects from large digital transformations to new product innovations for clients including Virgin Money, Safety Culture, Australian Institute of Company Directors, ASX, Torrens University and Uno Home Loans.
