Niue Tourism Launches Campaign To Let Visitors Know Niue Is Missing Them Too

Let’s say Fakaalofa lahi atu again soon” is the heartfelt wish central to a marketing campaign launched by Niue Tourism.

This is the first phase of an integrated campaign designed to aid the recovery of the tourism industry in Niue which has been hugely impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, as have tourism and travel industries across the world.

Niue Tourism’s Acting Chief Executive Moka Ioane-Laufoli says, “While travel around the Pacific Region is still a way off it’s important for Niue to tell our Kiwi and Aussie neighbours know that we all miss each other and we want to connect again.”

Phase one of the campaign aims to keeps Niue in the back of travellers’ minds, reaching out in a sensitive manner to New Zealand and the rest of the world affected by COVID-19.

Ads created by Auckland based design and advertising agency RUN, let visitors know that Niue is missing them too. Featuring smiling Niuean faces and the iconic natural beauty of the island, the ads have been put together using existing photography and video footage shot prior to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

The above the line campaign will run over Niue Tourism’s digital channels including social media, the Niueisland.com website and e-newsletters. This will be supported by a targeted PR programme conducted by Raise Communications, which echoes the ‘Niue is missing you too’ messaging.
