Channel Nine reporter Neary Ty has been subjected to a shocking racist rant, all caught on camera, after she arrived to report on a robbery in Geelong.
Ty was sent to home in Corio to report on a violent home invasion, only to be set upon by a ranter who yelled at the startled journalist, “What country do you come from?” to which Ty responded: “I was born here.”
The man starts shouting at Ty, asking: “You’re not f-cking Aussie, are ya? If you’ve got such a beautiful country, f-ck off back there.” He then proceeds to spit in the reporter’s direction.
You see and hear a lot on the road while reporting, but I wasn’t expecting this in Geelong today. @9NewsMelb pic.twitter.com/FmirEt1u16

This morning Ty told Nine’s Today of her distress over the incident.
“My parents came from Cambodia as refugees, they were sponsored here in the ’80s,” Ty said.
“They created such a beautiful life for my sister and I here in this great country, they started a new life here, and I was born here. So it was upsetting for him to say something like that.”
