Last year, Nike launched The Space Hippie Project, – a trash to trainers sneaker collection. The sneakers were made from 25-50 per cent recycled material and were Nike’s attempt at a sustainable sneaker collection. Setting the tone for a more earth-conscious future.
Originally the goal of the collection was to create a zero-carbon shoe. However the team didn’t quite get there, but they managed to cut the carbon footprint by over 70 per cent. Still, it was a very big step in the right direction!
