Harry Kewell Tries To Persuade Italian Legend Andrea Pirlo To Support Socceroos In New Spot For Uber Eats

Uber Eats and McDonald’s have unveiled a witty new spot to coincide with the start of the FIFA World Cup.

The ad stars Italian football legend Andrea Pirlo who’s clearly aggrieved his beloved national side fail to qualify for Russia 2018.

The campaign includes a number of iterations as former World Cup stars vie to try and get Pirlo to change allegiances to their respective national squads.

Former Socceroo great, Harry Kewell, is doing the persuading on behalf of Australia, while other cameos go to Cafu (Brazil), Marcel Desailly (France) Luis Hernandez and Jared Borgetti (Mexico), Rui Patricio (Portugal), Masahiro Fukuda (Japan) and Alexandre Guimarães (Costa Rica).

Check out a couple of iterations of the campaign below:

Commenting on the campaign, Jodie Auster, general manager, ANZ, Uber Eats said, “We believe the Aussies have a real chance to get past the group stage this year, but they are going to need all the support they can get.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with McDonald’s to offer 2018 FIFA World CupTM fans their favourite McDonald’s menu items at the press of a button. With average delivery times around 30 minutes, fans can place an order before, during or after the game to enjoy everything from Grand Big Macs to McFlurry’s without leaving the sofa. Get your mates around, get the TV on and let’s help Australia start the tournament as they mean to go on.”
