News Promotes Kerrie McCallum To Editorial Director Of Premium Food & Travel

News Corp Australia’s managing director, food and travel Fiona Nilsson today announced the appointment of Kerrie McCallum (main photo) as editorial director of premium dood and travel, editor-in-chief of Escape.

In this newly created role McCallum will oversee the editorial direction and development of the company’s premium food and travel portfolios. She will assume responsibility of leading travel brand Escape, which has a monthly audience of 3.7 million, and continue to oversee premium food brand delicious.

Nilsson said: “Kerrie is a talented editor with a proven track record in developing products that connect with consumers and clients. This promotion acknowledges her success with the market-leading delicious. brand and its high performing network across digital, video, social, print and events. I’m delighted she will now spearhead our travel offering, evolving the strategic direction of the portfolio and identifying new opportunities and partnerships.”

With more than 20 years publishing experience Ms McCallum has been the Editor-in-Chief ofdelicious. since 2014. Under her stewardship it has become Australia’s leading premium food-lifestyle media brand with a monthly audience of more than 2.5 million Australians.

McCallum said: “I’m really excited by the opportunity of expanding our premium food and travel portfolios through bold content that connects with consumer aspirations, new contributors across key categories and evocative picture-led experiences. The Escape brand is trusted, it is big, powerful and it works, and it is also ripe for growth and development as we get ready to shake off the isolation shackles and discover what’s in our own backyard. I can’t wait to begin.”

Nilsson also announced key appointments in her new portfolio, building out the travel management team for the important growth of the pillar.

Jana Frawley has been appointed content director, Escape to focus on developing and driving the content direction for the leading travel brand as it continues to expand, using her expertise and success in the travel industry for brand growth.

John Hannan, who has been instrumental in growing audience and engagement across thedelicious. digital, social and video channels, will lead the digital content and audience strategy across premium food and travel in the new role of digital director, delicious. and Escape.

Rachael Delalande, current marketing and commercial director, News DNA, has been appointed general manager marketing and commercial, food and travel to drive category growth and partner solutions across both portfolios.

All appointments are effective immediately.
